Проект открыт: gotogrub/ScriptedLLM-ChatBot.
Over the past few weeks, most of my time was spent on interviews. OTP Bank, WB, Sber, GigaChat, DIT, EmployCity, Yandex Practicum, Nrdrive. Some ended with rejections, some were strong technical interviews, some processes simply stopped midway, and in one case everything went well, but the conditions did not match the scope of the work.
Looking back at it calmly, the experience was useful. Many of the technical interviews were genuinely good. Not all of them, of course. Some questions were strange, and some live coding sessions felt like a small circus with production-level anxiety. But overall, the conversations were interesting. It was especially encouraging to see that the market is seriously looking toward ML, NLP, RAG, LLM integrations, and applied automation, not just endless JSON relocation from one service to another.
There were rejections. OTP Bank rejected me. WB rejected me. Sber NLP rejected me. DIT rejected me. EmployCity rejected me. Later, Yandex Practicum and Sber GigaChat rejected me as well. The reason was broadly clear: everyone wanted “pure ML” that is also Data Science at the same time, while my profile is much more about production AI/ML, LLM integrations, architecture, and applied automation.
There was also an offer from Nrdrive. The interview went very well, and the team seemed technically interested. In the end, however, I declined. The main reason was simple: no remote work and conditions that did not match the scale of the expected responsibilities. When a developer is expected to build architecture, infrastructure, and a technical direction almost from scratch, a salary of 250,000 rubles combined with mandatory office work feels less like a compromise and more like a bold experiment on the nervous system.
At the same time, Nrdrive helped me push the ScriptedLLM idea further. As a test assignment, I built a full support chatbot where scripted logic is combined with LLM responses, without letting the bot turn into an uncontrolled talking box. The project is open-source: gotogrub/ScriptedLLM-ChatBot.
That said, I do not want to turn this text into another rant about how everyone else is wrong. Companies have their own logic. Candidates have theirs. Sometimes expectations simply do not align. That is normal. What is not normal is pretending that complex engineering work is just “writing some code”.
The main conclusion for me is simple: I am tired of traditional hiring. Not tired of engineering, not tired of difficult technical problems, not tired of building systems. I am tired of the endless process where you have to prove the obvious again and again, go through several stages, explain the same experience to different people, solve artificial tasks under artificial conditions, and wait for feedback that may or may not ever appear from the HR fog.
So the concept of this website is changing as well. I can no longer be “hired” in the traditional sense. You can contact me to discuss a project, an idea, an integration, architecture, an ML solution, or a technical partnership. That is a more honest way to describe it.
Right now, I have become the team lead of a small technical team, and I am working on a legal-tech startup for the Ministry of Digital Development. The project sits at the intersection of law, automation, and artificial intelligence. And honestly, this feels much more right than trying to fit into someone else’s corporate box and pretending that it is comfortable.
The interviews were useful. They helped me understand the market, test myself, refresh my technical foundation, and finally formulate where I want to move next.
And what I want next is not just to look for a job.
I want to build systems.
